A few others who have won the "prize of no distinction&
The Swiss founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross was the first winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1901. He won with Frederic Passy, a french economist.
Aung San Suu Kyi won in 1990 for her peaceful struggle for democracy and human rights in Burma. Ms. Suu Kyi has been in and out of house arrest for much of the last 19 years.

Look, just because your boy hasn't done anything worth the justification of getting the award does not mean you have the right to drag these peoples names thru the mud, they actually did something that justified being rewarded.
I just love getting your goat SAR, and I know that one got it good. I am just messing with ya SAR.

Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, Yasser Arafat. Yep, really worth recipients.

Here are the ones who were passed over:
Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."
Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.
"Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."
Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."
"Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"
"Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."
Oh yeah, it's clear, Obama deserved it.

In a few days the right wing will get over their silly and UN-American reactions to the Nobel Peace award and
get back to something productive, like watching Tom Delay dancing with the stars.

I'm not right-wing or left-wing. So, which bothers you more, the right-wing criticizing your boy Maobama, or those that cannot be classified as such (approximately 50% of Americans identify as independent)?
And regardless of who speaks out about the peace award, he still did not deserve it. Create a case outsider that shows Maobama deserves the award more than those who were also nominated.

I ain't gone do it
He didn't ask for it. They awarded it to him. He's giving the money to charity. That's enough. I'm talking about the reactions I've read coming from mostly the right wing. They fall all over themselves trying to discredit the President and will say or do anything it seems to do it.

Because there is no way to create a case showing he deserved it. The deadline for nominations was Feb. 1. He was sworn in as pres. Jan. 20. So, in 11 days Maobama earned this (used to be until now) prestigious award?
It's an embarrassment that it was not humbly and respectfully turned down.

Just a quick question, why do you refer to President Obama as Maobama?

Isn't it obvious? Chairman Mao Obama.
You know, the award, it means what it means to whomever gives it meaning. But the one thing I resent most about this whole affair and I haven't seen it addressed on anyones blog yet is this; 1 million plus American citizens took the time to travel across the country to march peacefully to the doorstep of the president to get his attention, and what recognition did he give them? Nada. Did he address them through a press conference telling them "I am your president too and I hear your concerns"? No, instead he sicks the liberal propaganda mill to paint them all as racist ingrates, dangers to society.
All of the sudden you have five Norwegian socialist elites, they give him an internationalist's nod and he, Obama, declares it a "call to action". What? Whom does he serve? He is the president not of a narrow constituency of contributors and commie cronies. He is the president of the United States of America. These are the hardworking people who pay the bills for all of his financial debacles. We pick up the pieces and care for our own, just barely. He jet sets around the world on our penny and trashes the homeland and bows to tyrants and wants us to be pleased? Who cares what a crusty commitee of 5 norwegian politicos think?
He better put his butt in the saddle and get some things done around here or the people are going to speak sooner than later.

Must be mighty dark days for the GOP and their followers when they find themselves reduced to nothing more productive to do than mocking someone for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Sorry? I believe I directed that question to Lemontrail. I already know your reasoning has nothing to do with reality, but Lemontrail is a poster I respect and even when I disagree with him, his positions are still based on logic, unlike some.

No one has answered the question or shown what he did to deserve just being nominated for it.

You really are dedicated to the lie, arent you? How much proof do you need before you admit that yes, you were wrong, yes you swallowed propaganda hook, line and sinker? There was barely a tenth of that number in attendance. The leader of the movement themselves already retracted their statements. Why do you wing-nuts insist on making fools of yourselves spreading misinformation/lies?

When are you Obama supporters going to wake up and realize you are fighting a battle thats dropping soldiers at every corner? The facts from the polls strung across every media outlet from paper, internet, and TV are showing he is dropping popularity, he should have never won the Nobel Peace Prize (poll results), and the facts are starting to show overall support (poll results) for him is weakening by the day, hell even some are getting lower by the minute. Just remember this much....you guys put him in office, I didn't vote for him.
You guys keep on keeping on and staying on the Obama train. when it hits that brick wall full steam......what do you plan to do at that point?
