A tech section? We can have AMD vs. Intel fights, instead of republican vs. democrat.
Talk about some computer game, complain about how you can't change a graphics card in a laptop, etc.

If you start a thread and there is enough interest to have a separate forum I will be glad to create it.

Actually I doubt there is that much interest. I have yet to meet a nerd or techie to hang out with in this area. Only people who appear to know more about computers than me at work are the tech support guys, and they are in Wilson...
I guess I should go to Elliott's Computer Corner and play on their LAN. But pictures of the place put me off. A bunch of 12 year olds drinking Bawls?!?!

Dude, start the thread. We may be the only ones in it, but we'll have fun.
First topic suggestion. FPSs vs. RPGs, or, 360 vs. PS3 vs. PC.

LOL Funny thing is I don't play FPS or RPG games. Well, okay, I do have FEAR, but I have yet to reinstall it since redoing my computer several months ago.
I don't play console games because I haven't found many that arouse my interest.

you've just lost massive geek-cred.

LOL I don't consider console gamers geeks. Perhaps geek wannabes, but not geeks.
How about this scale of computer geekyness.
1. Attached a different mouse/printer/camera to computer.
2. Installed RAM/power supply.
3. Replaced/installed optical drive.
4. Replaced/installed pci/pcie/ide/agp/pcix card.
5. Formatted hard drive.
6. Replaced hard drive.
7. Installed processor.
8. Built computer from scratch.
PS. Anyone played the Command and Conquer 3 Demo? It has a mission in.... NC!!

Nope. I'm not a much into multiplayer games. One reason is that I die quickly, and I don't care to put up with bad attitudes. And then they charge you every month. :/ Command and Conquer: Red Alert was one of the first games I played. Haven't played any other Command and Conquer games since. I have both Red Alert and Red Alert 2 soundtracks though. LOL

I play The Sims on my pc. I have almost all of the Sims 2 games...I only need to get The Sims 2: Seasons. As for console, my brother has a 360, but I've never really been big on the XBOX. I got one for Christmas about 4 or 5 years ago, but my dad broke it, LOL. I play PS2 though, and I plan on getting a PS3. I like the Grand Theft Auto games, Splinter Cell (even though I'm not good at it), and basically any other shooting type game. The only sports games I play are the occassional March Madness or NHL games. My dad likes the sports games and Splinter Cell.

Currently I'm waiting for Silent Hunter 4 to come out. I have had fun playing Silent Hunter 3 (german ww2 sub) and I'm looking forward to playing an american sub in the pacific for a change. It's been a while since I played Silent Service II (last played in 1995?).
Also, I should find a copy of Europa Universalis III. I enjoyed Hearts of Iron II (also made by Paradox), but got tired of it seeming to be so scripted. There were three major sides to WW2 in that game, and to play one of the minor countries usually resulted in one getting run over by a dump truck.

I just picked up Battlefield 2142 myself. Kinda enjoying that. Currently playing that, Battlefield 2, and Morrowind: Oblivion.
As for console gamers being geeks, I think that the last generation changed that. Before I would agree, they are not, but with the X-Box modification ability and beginning to see interoperability between the consoles and PC, I think that console gaming has become more interesting to geek gamers. Prior to that, it was not.
And as for C&C3, I heard the reviews are coming in and are looking good. I can't wait, personally. One of the first strategy games I ever played was Command & Conquer, Tiberian Dawn (The original C&C) and it got me hooked on RTS games like nothing else ever could. None of their games have ever really lived up to the sheer joy of the first, but Red Alert did come very close. I have pretty much owned every Westwood game in the C&C/Red Alert universe that has been made at this point and loved most of them, so getting C&C3 is not an if, but a when decision.
