Big bust in town todayI heard through the grapevine there was a BIG drug bust in town today. Anyone else hear that?

UPDATE. The bust involved a Roanoke Rapids resident but actually occured in Charlotte.

Yea heard they finally got Bubba after all these years. 30+ kilos of coke too, and they caught him right as he crossed the state line, hence making it federal drug trafficking charges. Sucks real bad for him.

Yea I heard they had him under surveillance for months trying to get a bulletproof case against him. Couldn't get them much worse off then with 30 kilos in the car with them at the time.

He was a known drug dealer. Sorry. I've never even smoked a cigarette in my life and knew the deal. I am glad they caught him though, as he was a major supplier for the area. Maybe this will stem the flow, at least for a while. Coke has been readily available in RR for sometime thanks in large part to Bubba Carroll. He wasn't the first, and won't be the last, but maybe it will make some people more cautious before they try this again.

No I am not one of his customers but since you are so happy that he got caught are a dissatisfied customer? Perhaps someone he would not front drugs to? You sure are saying a lot of ugly things about him for someone who has no connection to him!!!!!!!! And let me set things straight-- I am not mad about him being busted, I am just a little surprised that people like you who say you have no connection to him can wish so much ill will on someone. First of all let me commend you for never having smoked or done any drugs. You are one of the few in Roanoke Rapids. However, regarding Bubba, he may have been a big supplier in Roanoke Rapids but don't kid yourself into thinking that him being caught has even put a small dent in the drugs in Roanoke Rapids or that this will make anyone else "cautious" about trying it. It only leaves room for another dealer to take up the slack.

When you wish ANYONE ill, including someone that has done wrong, it will come back on you and you are the one saying I hope they bury his ____. Jesus Christ teaches FORGIVENESS of ALL sinners, not just a select few. I pray for Bubba, as I have never denied that he has done anything wrong but I also pray for you. Read your bible. Whatever bad you wish on someone else will come back on YOU 10 fold!!!!!!!! Bubba is paying for his wrongdoing and you will pay for your ill wishes.

You are missing my point. I am NOT saying what he did was right in any way. But when you say you are glad he was caught then you ARE wishing ill will on someone or being glad of their bad situation and this my friend is what the bible says will come back on YOU 10 fold. Also YOU need to read the bible. I do read mine every day. No the officer will NOT be punished, he is doing his job. Do you even know what Christ said as he was dying on the cross? He said "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do". This is what I am saying that Jesus forgives ALL sinners. And you give ME a break and go see if you can find this scripture and meditate on it. Also I do think that Bubba should pay for what he has done and he will as we ALL will pay for our wrongs, but as I keep trying to get in your head that YOU wishing any ill will, it will come back to you!!!

Not to sound like I'm attacking you personally Amyer(and welcome to the board, by the way) , but I think your logic in this matter is a bit flawed.

Well the fact is, this is a close-knit community. We are all connected whether we like it or not. When law-abiding citizens see a person breaking the law(thus endangering the lives of the town -and- it's children) and flaunting it in the communities face, it is only natural to wish that the danger/bad influence was removed.
I can't speak for everyone, but I myself wasn't happy that evil befell this man. I'm not happy that he chose to destroy his life.
I would have been much more happy if he had instead chosen to change his life for the better before society changed it for him.
What I'm happy about is that there's one less influence on the streets. And yes, there will always be someone to take the place of people like him, but he was a very open and widely known.
As you yourself quoted, ""See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all."
I believe that him being off the streets definitely falls under the "good for all" category.

As I have previously stated, I do not condone in any way what Bubba Carroll did, however the fact of the matter is that we humans are NOT judge and jury to any man!!! I also understand your thinking when you say you believe that him being off the street is "good for all". Let me ask a question: Do other manufacturers or sellers of other substances which reak havock on the body, such as cigarettes, beer, liquor or the Mom and Pop grocery store which sells these items, would they also fall under the "good for all" category? I personally just let God handle all that as I am in NO way capable of judging anyone. Also, all the negative talk seems to have been centered strictly on Bubba Carroll? Was there not a second man involved?

I understand your point. Yes, there was a second man involved. I think everyone was centered on Bubba simply because he's such a well-known person. He went out of his way to rub in everyones faces that he did what he wanted, got away with it, and was living the "high life."
When you lead that sort of extravagant lifestyle, people wait for the fall, which always comes.
Also, Bubba was the key player, not the other man. When you take a "bigdog" or a large-scale provider off the streets, it means quite a bit more than just picking up the guy on the corner selling to a few kids.
This man was dealing in millions of dollars worth of contraband. He was providing for a large number the smaller dealers. I'd say that's something to be happy about.
And I understand your point about cigarettes, alcohol..etc but the fact is, they are all *legal* substances. Cocaine is a highly addictive "hard" drug. You don't hear in the news of a man beating his grandmother to death for beer money. That's the difference.
While the other things may all be bad for your health, they don't increase gang activity, theft, or violent crimes.[/i]

So we should just let all the drug dealers go free and let them sale drugs to our kids, friends, etc.. and God will punish them. I guess you must live in a cave where you have no contacts or friends, just the internet!! We have to protect ourselves and children from harm, that is why we have laws-

First of all..........yes I am very glad he got busted, I'm glad all of those hard head, thug, drug dealers got busted over the past few months. As far as wishing ill on a person.........I wish ILL on every drug dealer out there. If you ever to get to work in a society that is full of crack heads and druggies you'll understand. I have had that option in my life, got certified to be in law enforcement, worked in law enforcement, got a degree in criminal justice, but got tired of two dollar pay, so I moved on to better things. Just like the others have said, you must be related to this thug to defend him, I could understand if it was anything other than drug charges, but to sit here and defend a flunky drug dealer that is too sorry to get off of his arse and earn his money is just plain out stupid......if this offends you, I'm sorry. This is real world dealings, grow the heck up. He is wrong and I don't care how you look at it, any way. And if you think he is going to get out here real soon like he did the last time, think again...........this time he will not be able to buy his way out of it, he is looking a long time behind bars.

As far as me getting ill recourse off of wishing ill on others......I don't have that problem to worry about, don't drink and drive and try to obey the laws........atleast I don't have to worry about getting nabbed with dope anyhoo. He should have known his day was coming. Anyone that rides around a hummer with 20K worth of modifications without a J.O.B. isn't the smartest tool out in the shed......now is he??

Well, I'm not familar with the case, but if these charges are true, then I too am glad that he was caught.

You don't have to worry about judging Bubba, thats already been done..........he got busted and the proof was in his possession.
The amount of cocaine he got nabbed with is enough judgement for me to see how much damage he was doing to this community.
Some folks have the gall to sit here and say, don't judge him or her. Its pretty proof positive you've never seen the damage crack cocaine can do to a person.
I've seen it too many times and let me share a few stories of what I have seen in my days.
- A 37 year old female pimped out her 14 year old daughter to supply her crack addiction, right here in the mill village.

- A 37 year old man broke into his own parents home, stole his cash and several firearms, not once.........but three times.
- A successful real estate person washed to no good due to to crack.
I've got no feeling for someone that knows the bad dealing associated with crack.........everyone knows how hard it is and how bad the addiction is, why bother with it???
Crack isn't the baddest thing though..........wait til the folks here start dealing hard in crystal meth.......then we will see some serious problems.

First of all..........yes I am very glad he got busted, I'm glad all of those hard head, thug, drug dealers got busted over the past few months. As far as wishing ill on a person.........I wish ILL on every drug dealer out there. If you ever to get to work in a society that is full of crack heads and druggies you'll understand. Not to sound like I'm attacking you personally Amyer(and welcome to the board, by the way), but I think your logic in this matter is a bit flawed.

Well the fact is, this is a close-knit community. We are all connected whether we like it or not. When law-abiding citizens see a person breaking the law(thus endangering the lives of the town -and- it's children) and flaunting it in the communities face, it is only natural to wish that the danger/bad influence was removed.
I can't speak for everyone, but I myself wasn't happy that evil befell this man. I'm not happy that he chose to destroy his life.
I would have been much more happy if he had instead chosen to change his life for the better before society changed it for him.
What I'm happy about is that there's one less influence on the streets. And yes, there will always be someone to take the place of people like him, but he was a very open and widely known.

As I have previously stated, I do not condone in any way what Bubba Carroll did, however the fact of the matter is that we humans are NOT judge and jury to any man!!! I also understand your thinking when you say you believe that him being off the street is "good for all". Let me ask a question: Do other manufacturers or sellers of other substances which reak havock on the body, such as cigarettes, beer, liquor or the Mom and Pop grocery store which sells these items, would they also fall under the "good for all" category? I personally just let God handle all that as I am in NO way capable of judging anyone. Also, all the negative talk seems to have been centered strictly on Bubba Carroll? I understand your point. Yes, there was a second man involved. I think everyone was centered on Bubba simply because he's such a well-known person. He went out of his way to rub in everyones faces that he did what he wanted, got away with it, and was living the "high life."
When you lead that sort of extravagant lifestyle, people wait for the fall, which always comes.
Also, Bubba was the key player, not the other man. When you take a "bigdog" or a large-scale provider off the streets, it means quite a bit more than just picking up the guy on the corner selling to a few kids.
This man was dealing in millions of dollars worth of contraband. He was providing for a large number the smaller dealers. I'd say that's something to be happy about.
And I understand your point about cigarettes, alcohol..etc but the fact is, they are all *legal* substances. Cocaine is a highly addictive "hard" drug. You don't hear in the news of a man beating his grandmother to death for beer money. That's the difference.

You think that because this boy had a hummer or escalade that he delt in millions? If that is true I hope I can get in on the auction and buy some of this million dollar property!!! All this bad publicity from this crime seems to be put on one boy: Bubba Carroll. ALL of you who read the paper know that he was not the only one in that car and from what I understand the car did not even belong to him.
