BIKE STEALING TIME!!!!My sons bike was just stolen a few days ago. This was the first day in 3 weeks that it wasn't locked up. It is the 2nd year in a row that this has happened to us. Last year we did recover the bike from an individual downtown 1 hour later. Of course by that time he had torn off the brakes & chain gaurd. Three bikes were stolen from our neighborhood last year and it's starting again. Please let this be a WARNING. 
 Please be looking out for a boys SILVER MONGOOSE BIKE with FLAME STICKERS & Flames on the tires. If you see somebody riding one like this that didn't have one before please call the police. They can
"Positively" identify it.

They tried again last night to get our other bike. What is the world coming to? They are sooo good at it it's scary. This time they didn't get very far b/c the bike was chained up. I suppose they'll come back again with wire cutters. I just hope to catch them next time.
How are we supposed to protect ourselves & our belongings?

It's not just the bike. It's the fact that someone will come in your yard at night. You know they are up to no good. What should I do if I catch them? Ask them if they would like to come on in?

I'd start by putting whatever I wanted to keep inside. The days of sleeping with the windows open and doors unlocked are long gone.

You can always remove one of the tires. A bike isn't much good with one wheel.
