ER doctor jailed after he finds wife in bed with another manMcClatchy Newspapers
Hilton Head | A 68-year-old man faces several felony charges for allegedly putting a gun to his wife's head Tuesday morning after he found a man sleeping next to her and another man asleep on the couch at his Moss Creek home, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Durward Pridgen was arrested after an incident that began after he called home from an Augusta, Ga., hospital, where he is an emergency room doctor. When his 50-year-old wife didn't answer the phone, he called Moss Creek security to check on her, according to a Sheriff's Office report released Wednesday.
Security officers checked the home and noticed a man sleeping on the couch, the report said. It is unclear if the security guards told Pridgen what they saw.
Pridgen then drove from Augusta to the couple's home.
When he found the men there, Pridgen allegedly put his Smith & Wesson handgun to his wife's head and threatened to kill her, the report said. He then pointed the gun at the 43-year-old Bluffton man asleep in bed next to her and demanded the man take off his clothes and leave the house.
He followed the same routine with the 52-year-old Greenwood man asleep on the couch, telling the man "remove (your) pants and get out now," the report said.
Pridgen then fired a shot into the wall.
When Moss Creek security arrived, they found Pridgen pointing the gun at the younger man in the front yard.
As security officers separated the men, Pridgen tried to give each man a bullet, claiming, "The next time it will be in you," the report said.
Pridgen was charged with two counts of pointing a firearm at a person, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, the report said.
He was released from the Beaufort County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon after posting a $40,000 bond, the jail log said.

The good Doctor showed restraint, lots of it. It appears this was an ongoing situation for the ho he married, and she a 50 year old broad. What a prime time to file for a divorce, newspaper proof of infidelities, witnesses, etc. Not to mention the police photos of the her lovers on the front lawn receiving their gift of life.
Cougar comes to mind, but a more fitting description of the woman, not lady, would fall somewhere between garbage and garbage. Cougars are discreet. I also would have erradicated the cougar and let the men go. Sugar Daddy caught his trophy wife in bed with her candy man, with another on the couch waiting his turn. Unfortunately the laws of SC don't provide that type of reaction. As a man, I'd probably do the same thing if I found my wife with another man, however... in SC, the laws were not to his favor. Since they were married, the house is marital property. The wife has LEGAL RIGHT to have any "invited guest" over that she pleases. Now, granted there was a man in bed with her, but since no sexual act was observed, then adultery can't be proven. Adultery is against the law, by the way. The thing is... the law states if she invited them over, he cannot make them leave (if the wife wants them to stay). Now, if the wife is okay with them leaving, then that's a different story, but in SC any resident of the house (this includes roomates, children above the age of 17, and anyone else) can have ANY INVITED GUEST over that they want... and the homeowner has NO LEGAL RIGHT to make them leave if the other resident doesn't agree. Gotta love SC law.

Talk about taking advantage of someone. She liked the money he was making and the house he was providing. Problem is she was a little stupid.
Now if he is smart she will be out of the money and the house. Can't see that court case against him going anywhere, even in SC.
Yep, he showed remarkable restraint. Drove all the way from Augusta, Ga to Hilton Head with all that on his mind, whew!
