A fugitive wanted in the nation's capital is now behind bars after deputies say they caught him scoping out some homes.
Halifax County Sheriff deputies arrested Anthony Ellis and charged him with being a fugitive in North Carolina.
Warrants had been issued for Ellis out of DC for firearms violations.
Deputies say Ellis seemed to be casing houses in the area when they spotted him and arrested him.
He is being held in a Halifax Jail under no bond
