Gas prices???This morning I filled up at Wa-Wa, and it was 2.36 per gallon!!!! Does anyone KNOW why the gas is going back up??? Geez......I have a much longer drive to work now, so am using MORE gas... But if this continues, by Easter, it will be over 2.60 per gallon.

They're blaming it on the cold weather in the northeast right now. In a couple of months they will be blaming it on the summer driving demand and hurricane season. We can't win.

Yeah, they say the reason it went down was because of the mild winter in December, so now we have sticker shock because it got cold and heating oil is back in demand. The price will most likely keep rising into the summer. I hear that it'll probably be around $3 in the summer.

Who cares, ride a bike, ask for a raise, buy a small car. I get tired of people always complaining about gas prices. 1 gallon of milk costs $3.50, 20oz bottle of water-$1.09, that is $6.98 per gallon-for water- and we cry about gas!

haha yeah, thats 6.98/gal for name-brand water.
Get the regular ole wallys world water for $1/gal.

Who cares must not drive 60 miles a day. Back when I lived in town, your right, who cares? I didn't. I drove a V-8 that burned premium. But when you are forced to drive that far because housing costs are outrageous in the vicinity of RR, I care. But not having a car payment and not wanting one just to save a few bucks at the pump, I have to tighten my belt in other areas. Less going out to eat, supporting the community, etc.
And yea just ask for a raise. Works great if your not at a state job with a salary schedule.

Find another job. It isn't the gas company's fault that you work for the state, it is by choice. There are a lot of jobs out there waiting for the right, educated, individual to take it. So if you are complaining about your pay, quit!! The way I look at it is: 60 miles per day driving a car that gets 30 mpg, not a z-28, at $2.50/gal, is just $25.00 a week. Just don't eat out, bring a sandwich. Stop complaining, you made the choice to move further away from your job.

It's my right as an American to complain. If there was no complaining we wouldn't need message boards.

Kinda makes you wonder if RoRapids OWNS the gas stations, because that's about the only reason I can see anyone not caring how much they gouge us. I do hope that wasn't a slight against state workers either...They are some of the most underpaid workers out there & they do have educations....It gripes me when someone acts like they are below them ~ Be thankful someone out there is protecting your arse & just remember SOMEONE has to do it.

heh, I wondered the same thing.
That, and that the overall brusque, commanding tone reminded me of a certain someone.
But no, the grammar/vocabulary doesn't match.
Well, the fact that it exists at all.

I wouldn't pay much mind, s/he obviously is either a 14 year old kid with nothing better to do(and thus doesn't have a reason to complain about gas prices), or someone over 30 with no friends.

Very few civil engineering jobs in this area. And while I don't care for how the people of this state have been giving me the shaft with my lousy salary, I still enjoy my job and like to think that I'm making NC a better state by serving it. According to a recent CE salary survey, I'm giving the state about $15k a year. And they say the teachers need a pay raise...
