Halifax Arts Council Sip and See - Monday NightThe monthly Sip and See will be held tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Arts Council Gallery on Roanoke Avenue (between David's and Carpet One).
The featured artist(s) is the local Valley Photo Club. Approximately 12 members will have various photos on display. We had filled about 90% of the wall space when we were done setting up yesterday.
Should be a good time just meeting others and sipping a glass of wine or two. If you get a chance, stop by and say hello.
I just use the JRT name for bulletin boards but it's no secret who I am. The wife and I have about 20-30 photos on display. We've got at least 500 on display at our web site just for others to enjoy.

Is there any cost to join the photography club? I'm still quite an amateur, but I am trying to learn. My favorite photography is usually action doing both sports and airshow photography. I really don't have a lot of spare time or money right now (would be saving it for new camera hardware) but would still like to learn more about photography. Just curious the requirements in time, money and hardware necessary to join.

We meet once a month at the Chamber of Commerce. Normally the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month.
Time is all you need, no costs to join. We're just a bunch of amateurs (we do have 2 local pros) who meet to share ideas. We range from point and shoot cameras to digital SLRs. We normally do a small training session each meeting on different subjects and we try to do local field trips about once a quarter.
Drop me an E-mail from my web site and I'll get you added to the mailing list for upcoming meetings.

Not bad at all. Pretty good crowd who I think enjoyed all the different varieties of photos that were displayed. I know the wine went quickly and I'm sure the photos looked even better after a few drinks (at least mine did).
We'll have the photos on display for about 3 weeks or so.
