How Do We Know The Bible Is Complete?

How do we know that the Bible is the word of God and that it is complete?

How do we NOT know? Confused
The Rock

This is something I've wondered myself. Did everything relevant to God's word happen 2,000 years ago or more?

Good point and feel free to answer either one if it will promote discussion.

Complete in what way? The question makes no sense to me. It is like asking you "are you complete"? Is your dinner complete? Is the water you drink complete? The word "bible" comes from the Greek word "biblios" meaning book.
Hense "Holy Bible" or Holy Book. The word "scripture" means "that which is written". Has everything that God knows been written? Does the Bible teach every lesson that Jesus taught? It is His Truth in sufficient portion for fallen humanity to be able to transform them into sons and daughters of God. When you are dying of thirst, a mear drop is enough to spring hope. When you are severely depressed, a simple kind word from a stranger can turn the tide. Was the drop complete, the kind word? Complete I know not but sufficient it is. Don't forget He also left us the Holy Spirit to "lead us and guide us into all truth"

It wasn't a trick question flyupsidedown but I can break it down for you if you like.

1. Is the Bible the word of God?

2. Does the Bible contain everything that God wanted us to know? (is it complete?)
flyupsidedown

1. yes.

2. You'll have to ask Him.

Well, the english version can't be the word of god because it was translated from the original version, and long translations do not capture the full intent of the original.

And to take something from my philosophy teacher, you don't know anything. It only SEEMS to you that you know it.
flyupsidedown

HAHAHAHAHA ... I guess that goes for your philosophy teacher as well
