Only problem with that is the popularity of the names.. They've already found 72 tombs marked with the name "Jesus" and the names Mary and Joseph were much more popular during that period..
Even if they did find the real tombs, there'd be no way of knowing. |

Yeah, it is a tough one to prove that it is the prophet/messiah Jesus and family, and not some other one. But they claim that through DNA that Joseph and one Mary are related to Jesus and the other Mary is not related to the others. Still, hard to prove. Now if they were able to get a good date from these bones on when these folks died, that might narrow it down a bit. But do we have dates for when Mary, Mary, and Joseph died?
But the main thing that bothers me is how they keep having Christian experts on TV saying there is no chance whatsoever that these bodies are the ones they are looking for. But then the same can probably be said for some "scientists". |

Well, what we're seeing is Christian leaders coming out and denouncing the find as an attack on their faith. Even if there was an irrefutable way to prove that they were the earthly remains of one Jesus H. Christ and his familia, it couldn't be true because, of course, he ascended to the heavens! I personally don't think it matters one way or the other. This sort of "earth-shattering find" happens every 5 years or so. |
