Local Republican Party More Progressive Than I ThoughtI didn't know you Republicans had it going on like you did here in Halifax County. Having a stripper as Chairman is pretty progressive even by my liberal standards. I can't believe you can't get anyone to come to the meetings. I bet Kross and Sammy Webb are having a great time. http://www.rrdailyherald.com/articles/2006/12/17/front/front.txt

I don't see the problem with what she did. I see the problem with someone thinking it shouldn't be public knowledge. Is that how Sam Webb is going to approach his political career?

The good 'ole boys club is alive and well in RR. She'll eventually step down. Its just a matter of time. Sam Webb has shown his true colors. I'd given him the benefit of the doubt at one time but I should have went with my gut instincts to start with.

The last time I checked it wasn't illegal to be a stripper, so who gives a $%^& what she did back in the day?

Who cares what she did, last I heard everyone has something in their past that they just might not want to get out. At least she was working and not having to be taken care of by the government. So I agree with the rock "so who gives a $%^& what she did back in the day?"

It really doesn't bother me a whole lot what somebody does in their past, as long as she was not participating in illegal activities. I couldn't abide by a former drug dealer or addict or something being in charge of the county political party, but somebody that did something to pay her own way, rather just sitting at home getting a welfare check has a lot more respect in my mind.

Y'all are the one's railing on her, not me. I think its great you have a stripper for chairman. It must make for some interesting meetings.

I'm just now learning of this Pam Ward & Halifax County Republican Party story. I for one applaud Ms. Ward, Obviously she is a free thinking intelligent person. Pirate has a valid point. I am glad (at-long-last) to see the city's propitious location being put to use. But RR will never fully ripen while "the good 'ol boy" network remains in force.
