Mr Wade was not honest!I don't care how many times Jim Garrett repeats it John Phillip Wade was not honest in his post's as linda. Do you think Mr Wade was hugging Ed Deese's neck everytime he saw him? Or Drewery Beale's? Do you not think it was honest to pose as a city employee or insider named Linda and post about the so-called inner workings of the city? Do you think a certain city employee named Linda was put in a bad postion? What made Mr Wade an "insider" as he put it? His association with Jim Garrett? Where does the honesty begin Jim or have you lied to everyone so much you don't know how to tell the difference between a lie and the truth?

Here is a few quotes from Linda on 27870 forum, you got to read these...

Lord, what a week! By now, most of you have figured out that I am an insider. I must say that Mayor is a nice guy. So is Deese. In fact I love Ed and hug him every time I see him. Occasionally, Drewery, too!
BUT THEY SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING FOR OFFICE AGAIN. It is their right. I am proud of our democracy, but GIVE ME A BREAK!
The ordinance enforcement, "Operation Clean Sweep!" ---Do you know who has been blocking ordinance enforcement for years? Saying one thing at the council meetings and then behind the scenes trading votes for favors? Whispering to violators, "Don't worry about that, I will take care of that little problem for you as long as you support my next election." Literally blocking our code enforcement staff and police from doing their jobs. I have witnessed it. I know. I can name names dates and locations.
Main Street Program ---Did you all see those front page photos celebrating the Main Street Grant? The truth is three city employees (one low paid) and a bunch of citizens had to drag Drewery, Ed and a couple of others through this thing. (To be fair, Baker did a good job on this one.)
I am sorry, but we need to put personal feelings aside and vote for real leaders who do their homework, and have the capability to help us move this city forward. I love Ed and Drewery. Wonderful men, with good intentions. City leaders? You have got to be kidding me. Their biggest supporters will tell you. "Drewery and I have known one another since we were kids." or "Deese is my friend."
Well, let me share this with you. My whole family has loved Mayor for many years. Deese IS a good man. BUT, when I go to vote that is not all I am looking for in a city leader. Folks this is not a popularity contest. The city is broke, in debt up to our ears.
I saw Suetta Scarbrough's sign. It says "Vote Wisely." Very good advice.

Sometimes as we go through life, we forget to stop and think of others.
If you are a reader or contributor to this bulletin board, I encourage you to stop and pay tribute to a man who has spent hundreds of hours to serve our community.
I do not really know Jim Garrett personally. But, whether you agree with him, or loath his every comment, you have to respect that the man cares about us, our greater society; he spends his time educating our community.
He gives us a forum where we can speak. That is the essence of freedom!
Jim and I may have a heated argument next week. But right now, I think we should each write a note to say how much we appreciate this gallant man for the effort he has made to ensure free and unfettered discussion. Whether we agree with him or not, Jim Garrett is a man of distinction.

My extended family has lived here since about 1910. Our forefathers (and mothers) came to this area looking for work. Every generation of our family has worked in the Mills.
I am ashamed to say this, but if we let Mayor and Baker go back into office, then I have to say that we are not very smart people in this town.
I do not know Deese, so I will withhold judgment, but if Beale and Baker are re-elected after all this, then we should all be ashamed of our apathy and down right ignorance.
Maybe we are not ignorant, but certainly we are easily manipulated by Beale and Baker, and their real bosses behind the scenes who are really calling the shots.
Really? Your family worked in the mills? I'd love to hear the rest of this story.

What you are saying, Sir, is not correct. No one slapped a back. My spouse worked hard on this project, learned from a contact at the NC Department of Commerce that Mr. Baker made the initial contact and MY SPOUSE pointed that out at the meeting.
You think my spouse is a political back slapper? Baker's back?
Again, let's work to be stronger on facts and message, and less on attacking people, especially when we don't have the facts.
I would love to hear some more facts Mr Wade.
