It might be tough to get the person you want this year. Miami and Alabama are both looking coaches and they are definately more of a football school than State.

Norm Chow has gone on the record as saying there's only 2 places he'd be willing to coach at: NC State and Arizona State. Hopefully he won't follow Herb to the desert.

IIRC Norm Chow didn't live in Raleigh when he was OC at State. He flew back and forth to California on Wendell Murphy's lear jet.

Here is the thing. I think Norm would be a damn good pick. But I wonder if Bill taking his name out of the hat right now is to kinda deflate the situation with Pittsburgh. He just declined like a 6.5 million dollar contract extension. I just wonder if he may be waiting to the end of the NFL season so that it doesn't cast a shadow over the rest of the season and post-season play. But that could be just VERY wishful thinking.
