New Section in RoanokeRapidsLife.com - Supporting Our TroopsRoanokeRapidsLife.com supports our troops. It's common to think that Roanoke Rapids, NC, although a distance from the nearest military installations like Seymour Johnson AFB and Fort Bragg, our Soldiers are present in all 100 counties of North Carolina.
RoanokeRapidsLife.com has created a Military Support Page for the families and Soldiers in the area. A Military Pride page will also be set up in the near future for families, loved ones and friends can submit a picture of their Soldier and post a message of thanks and appreciation.
For many National Guardsmen and Army Reservists, the Military is not their way of life. These Citizen Soldiers have regular jobs and live in your community. It is often difficult for the family when they find themselves suddenly military. Additionally, many employers, teachers, and friends who are aquainted with these Soldiers are not familiar with how best to accomodate to military-connected families.
Children and Teens, too, have many questions about the military and the Global War on Terrorism. There are many links available to assist these children grow accustom to being suddenly military.
In addition to family support, the Military Support Page provides information and support for Employers and Teachers who are now faced with working with military-connected employees and students.
If you have military-connected children in your schools, have an employee who is a Soldier, or know someone that is miiltary-connected, please pass on this website (RoanokeRapidsLife.com) and let them know there is a portal for them here.
