"One change to the ordinance states that all outdoor animals, cats as well as dogs, must be kept in a 36-square-foot enclosure per animal with a minimum height of six feet to ensure the safety of the public and a good living environment for the animals."
SIX FEET HIGH!?!?!
I know several folks in town with dogs, and none of the have 6 feet tall fencing. I'd say 90% of the fencing used for animals in town doesn't meet that standard.

I got lucky I guess, the one I bought from lowes is 6 foot tall and 10 x 10, but I don't think my hounds could get over it if it was 2 foot high, lazy old hounds, but also the wife's babies! I had no idea there was a height regulation or size either.

I saw a funny thing today while biking that made me think of this topic. I saw a little chihuahua running around in a fence that couldn't be higher than 2 feet. But hey, it would pretty silly to have a 6 feet tall fence for a lil' chihuahua. I wonder how strongly enforced this ordinance is.
