printer help

There is a thin strip inside my printer called a encoder strip, it has came unattached.  I can see where it attaches to both sides, but i can not get to them.  For someone that knows what they are doing, it would probaly take 5 minutes to fix.  I really need my printer fixed, asap.  Anybody know someone that can fix it?  If I had the proper tools, I could maybe do it.  The printer would not even have to be taken apart to fix it.

J don't know anything about printers, except how to turn them on. I do have an extra that you can borrow. PM me if you need it.
Nighthawk

I know that they usually are not worth fixing if something internal breaks.  Unless its a nice laser printer or something, we don't fix them at work, I just toss them and replace.
THE CURE

If you just need a basic printer and you save the USB cable you can buy a printer with the ink cartridges cheaper than you can buy cartridges alone.

My printer is not one where the top lifts up and you get to inside of it.  Mine has a opening in the front, and it is awkward to reach the pieces to connect them back up.  I looked up a bunch of mess on the net, forums and such, from what i found it is not a major fix.  I just can't get my hands in the right position to fix it.  It seems that this strip is a reading device for the printer to read where the print heads are at.  My strip does not need to be replaced.  If it did, I found one for about 25 bucks.  Thanks for the offer to borrow one,  but I always worry about borrowing stuff.  I worry something may happen then it's my fault.  Anyway, I need to print up hundreds of copies.  What about this guy that rides around with stuff printed on his vehicles, the pc dr or something.  Use to see that car all the time, haven't seen it in a while.
