Questionable academic eligibility can override the most winning teams. Think of Jimmy V or any other coach in collegiate play that have done great and were later found out to be playing ineligible players? Huge fine, revocation of wins, and a huge black eye on the reputation of the school.

Now I don't know anything more about this than what was in the paper, but that accusation is a strong one and probably the #2 worst thing a coach or AD can do (aside from paying a player).

THE CURE

Unless the grade is coming from a class that the AD is teaching how is he responsible for letting those "questionable" kids play? You either make the required grades or you don't.

Jim Valvano wasn't responsible for admissions at NC State. He recruited the players and the admissions office determined eligibility. The example most often used is Chris Washburn. It makes me laugh because everyone acts as if State was the only one that offered him a scholly when in fact every team in the ACC offered him one along with 200 other schools. I bleed Carolina Blue but that was a lynch mob media event if there has ever been one. I think you'll find in the end the situation with the AD at RRHS is a political issue, nothing more, nothing less.

It could very well be Cure. I don't know. As for the grades, I understand that the AD has a manual override of the grades, so he can make them eligible at his perogative. Again, this is just what I have heard, and I don't know the logistics of it or how one could trace/track this. I do not know any inside info on this, so I am just speculating with the rest of you.
