RoanokeRapidsLife in the news

http://www.prleap.com/pr/57844/

News Released: December 10, 2006
(PRLEAP.COM) Up until now, there hasn’t been a central location for people to view information about Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Roanoke Rapids, NC is a growing town that will soon feature Randy Parton Theatre and Carolina Crossroads (a music and entertainment district), great shopping at the new Premier Landing Shopping Center, a five story Hilton Garden Inn, and the last stop on I95 in North Carolina before entering Virginia. It’s a prime location for tourists and visitors.

Visitors and tourists, in the past have had to visit many various sites to find the information they need like attractions, recreational opportunties, special events, and local news. RoanokeRapidsLife.com takes the big step to providing this information for everyone.

It also provides an opportunity for residents to quickly and easily post news, opinions and special events; all at no cost to registered members.

"If you look at cities like Charlotte, Raleigh, or Fayetteville, they have a great online presence," says Gerhard Guevarra, the website’s creator. "Roanoke Rapids needed a great ‘front cover’ that people can quickly see what it had to offer; it simply didn’t have that yet."

The website is now open for review and will be open for the public starting January 1, 2007.

Nighthawk

It seems that Jim is feeling threatened by your new site. Apparently he is upset that somebody else may be offering the Roanoke Valley another alternative. He feels that it is not local and "free". I assume his idea of a "free" local site is a mediocre site run by a local slumlord who crushes all dissent ruthlessly.

I personally like the design and look of Roanokerapidslife, and feel that it might be a new portal for all things RR. Does it mean you can't go to other local sites like this or his site? Nope. But obviously somebody feels like his position as the "voice of RR" may be threatened by another. He is a businessman though, and should understand that competition is always better for everybody else. Keeps things from getting stale.

Sounds Great.

How else can I make the site better and accessible to various audiences?

By the way: the parent company G Designs LLC is now viewable online and open for business (www.roanokerapidslife.com/gdesigns).

Thanks for the support!

Hmmm...how much freer can I make it? Free memberships, free classifieds, free event listing, free blogs...etc.

I can't think of how it can be more local, except for calling it RoanokeRapidsLife.com, Your Local Website.

I found the Jim article. He's funny.

I'll have to take a look at it. I haven't been to that site in a while.
