Strike at GoodyearWhat do you guys think of the strike at Goodyear? Do you use Goodyear tires? Would you buy them know knowing that the regular workers aren't the one's making them? http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/16090893.htm

I hadn't thought much about it but I will think about it before I buy my next set of tires, that is if there is still a strike ongoing.

I don't know all of the details but I understand there is something about cutting the retiree's medical insurance. If you can take care of the workers that worked their entire lives for the company they have a serious problem. I'm not going to buy Goodyear tires.

Glad to see somebody standing up to the unions. I will definitely need to shop there.

So you'd risk your family's life because Goodyear's management is standing up to the unions?

When you put it like that it doesn't matter who's right. Especially if they are selling inferior products.

I was joking on that Slash.
Personally I don't choose to purchase from any place during labor disputes when/if at all possible. Not to support the union or to stick it to the business. However, like Slash said, safety/quality is probably going to be down at that time. Until the situation is resolved, I try to avoid that business.

Sorry Nighthawk. I remember one time when Eastern Airlines pilots were on strike and they were using replacements. People were buying tickets because Eastern had discounted them to drum up business. Can you imagine flying on an Airline with a pilot that had been unemployed until the strike? Not me.

I don't want to get to indepth but the labor unions and the GI Bill are what created the middle class that we have in America today.
