Getting the word out. It's already out. All major contacts (or at least the ones I could think of)in town have received a copy of the media release. As well as some places out of town.
WNVN-TV has requested an interview.
Feel free to download the media release and forward it to anyone else or print it and pass it on to others.

Wow I really like. I think this has a real chance at supplanting both other "RR" based websites as the place for news/info/discussion about the Roanoke Valley. Not that I'm going to stop coming by here, but I hope that it becomes the focal point for the area, instead of other biased sites.

What other biased sites are there?

Cool. It reminds me of the www.hamptonroads.com site.

Many thanksThanks for the support.
I've worked really hard at this site. I know some people are skeptical because I don't LIVE in Roanoke Rapids (any more), but my family does and I used to. Long enough to get to know a lot of people, make a lot of friends, and to call it home with a "mom" and "dad", that live there.
It was important that I was married there. It was important that my children were baptised there. And it's important that I try to do more for it and give back to a community that welcomed me. It was Roanoke Rapids that gave me my start and helped me grow into an adult.
I love coming back to Roanoke Rapids to visit my family and love to see it grow.
Please continue to support the site and rorap.net as well -- because it's important not only to people that live here, but for the people on the outside looking in.
I'm happy to know the Collier's, the Hedgepeth's, buying my first vehicle from Bones Toyota, getting to know so much of Chaloner Middle School and Mrs. Woofter (who is now at RRHS), the Wommack's, 5th floor Halifax Regional, the folks at Brownings (2 hotdogs, all the way!), being introduced to the Sonic 500...
I even helped Roanoke Rapids High School choreograph a piece in their band once.
I hope the site becomes a place where people can love this town as much as I do.

I like the site . Especially since alot of people from out of town will probably refer to it to find the latest happenings at Carolina Crossroads when that is up and running. Have you talked to Randy Parton about possibly partnering with him and Carolina Crossroads to promote both CC and your site? I know he has www.carolinacrossroads.com, but I figure your site could help with some extra publicity for you and him.

Thanks, I'll try that.
Also, luck has it my wife is related in some fashion to Mike Dunlow, also with Carolina Crossroads.
In time, I hope that Carolina Crossroads and RoanokeRapidsLife.com can support each other.
But, if you know how to contact Randy Parton or his staff, I would like to try that avenue as well.

I would suggest going to www.carolinacrossroads.com and emailing them. I know they reply back, because I've emailed them before.

I think the website is going to do well. It's seems to be easy to navigate with alot of useful information. Will you be able to get an email address from RoanokeRapidsLife.com?
