Where are all you 'WARMIES' now?

October 14, 2009
Gore On The Grill
By Brian Sussman

Last Friday, global warming's poster boy, Al Gore, spoke to the Society of Environmental Journalists' convention in Madison, Wisconsin.  After his speech to this flock of propagandists, there was a rare Q and A session.  Among those asking a question was Irish filmmaker Phelim McAleer, director of Not Evil, Just Wrong, a movie critical of the global warming movement.

McAleer queried Gore about a 2007 decision by the British High Court which  determined that Gore's global warming flick, An Inconvenient Truth, was so packed with fraud that it required a 56-page disclaimer if it was to continue to be shown to students in the United Kingdom.

McAleer asked, "The judge in the British High Court, after a lengthy hearing, found that there were nine significant errors [in the movie]. This has been shown to children.  Do you accept those findings, and have you done anything to correct those errors?

Gore brushed off the question by going straight to the heartstrings of the useful idiots assembled in the room: he talked about the court's criticism of the film's claim that polar bears are an endangered species. "You don't think they're endangered?" Gore demanded of McAleer.

We'll get to the truth about polar bears in a moment, but first some insight into the U.K. court case.

It was filed by Stewart Dimmock, a father of two, who challenged his government's decision to provide every secondary school in England with a copy of Gore's movie as part of a nationwide environmental campaign.  Filing suit in court, his lawyers argued that film lacked balance and aimed at influencing, rather than informing, the students.

Amazingly, The United Kingdom's High Court in London agreed with Dimmock and determined that An Inconvenient Truth contains "alarmist and exaggerated" content which can only be legally shown to school children if accompanied by a warning regarding the film's blatant "political brainwashing."

In his ruling, Judge Michael Burton said the "apocalyptic vision presented in the film was politically partisan and thus not an impartial scientific analysis of climate change."  It was, he continued, the work of a "talented politician and communicator, to make a political statement and to support a political program."

In its synopsis of the movie, the film's distributor, Paramount, makes the judge's case:

Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

Judge Burton diffused the time bomb by mandating the creation of the detailed instructor's guide which is now required to be used by teachers in the U.K. in conjunction with classroom viewings of the movie.  In its introduction, the guide states:

"...in parts of the film, Gore presents evidence and arguments which do not accord with mainstream scientific opinion" . . .

I know this may come as a shock to you but you don't extrapolate a trend by cherry picking isolated incidences.  The evidence proves the earth has been in a cooling phase for about ten years I believe.  So you warmies need to revise the outlook.  I heard they've already toned down the 'warming' aspect and are touting 'climate change' now instead.  Anything to keep you snookered schmucks on the line I guess.  Gore really reeled you in and made fools out of you.  I'm sorry for that, because your sense of 'faith', 'loyalty', 'worship' and global 'hand-wringing' was birthed out of good intent and earth-saving motive.  He painted you all up like gloabl warming clowns with false, sometimes fraudulent scientific paint.  You did your part.  Don't feel bad.  You danced and pranced around the public media outlets and blogosphere making total idiots of yourselves and it gave us great joy to laugh at you.  Your purpose was fulfilled but now the time has come to wash off the paint and get a little serious.  One can only laugh at silliness so long and then it becomes . . . well, a bore.

Know whatta meen?

You know what Fly, I'm done "debating" your kind. It's been too long since we've legitimized your 'opinions' with debate, when the vast majority of them are based on conspiracy theories and fantasies, and should be ridiculed as such. There are too many important things to concentrate on without a bunch of fruitcakes bogging things down.  Parting gift!

Polar ice caps melting faster than we thought

MSNBC reports that polar ice caps in Greenland and Antarctica are melting much faster than scientists believed, even melting at "runaway" rates. The article summarizes the findings of a research study published in Nature, a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The study explored 50 million laser images from a NASA satellite to calculate the shrinking depth of the ice sheets, finding the edges to be particularly thin because of their proximity to the warmer water beneath.

The ice in these regions is, in many areas, more than a mile thick, so people have been slow to feel alarmed. However, since 2003, some places of Antarctica have lost 30 feet of thickness each year, the study found, which is twice the rate of melting from 1995 to 2003. MSNBC states that the findings, "confirm what some of the more pessimistic scientists thought: The melting along the crucial edges of the two major ice sheets is accelerating and is in a self-feeding loop. The more the ice melts, the more water surrounds and eats away at the remaining ice."

The article quotes study lead author Hamish Pritchard, saying the melting is more widespread than scientists thought, surprising researchers by reaching hundreds of kilometers inland. The British Antarctic Survey released a statement indicating the melting affects all latitudes of Greenland, is spreading, and has intensitifed on Antarctic coastlines. The glaciers are melting at rates faster than the precipitation can replace the ice shelves and perhaps contributing to the rise in sea levels.

The article indicated that scientists once thought the melting glaciers would add three feet to sea levels by the end of the century, but that the size of the ice sheets meant it would take centuries for them to melt entirely. Now, Pritchard indicates we have "underestimated" the sensitive ice sheets' response to temperature changes. He points to not only the warm water at the edges of the glaciers, but also the warm ocean currents contributing to the melt. Pritchard calls for greater understanding of the ice loss so researchers can better predict the future rise in sea levels.

So no, noone's "backing down," as you in all your hyperbole love to exclaim, the situation's actually worse than anyone predicted.

That's right, run and hide.  When you can't prove your case in light of legitimate empirical evidence as opposed to politically agenda motivated climate weather model programmers, just stomp your feet and have a hissy fit and remove yourself from the ongoing debate.  Sounds like a retreat to me.  Just because you're losing isn't reason to get angry about the winners.  Somebody's got to win.  Just so happens it isn't the 'Warmy' priesthood and their faith-filled adherents.

It's okay, crying is a valid emotion too you know.

Here's a good site to peruse;

Of course, noone will feel the less of you if you pull yourself out of the game just because you're losing.  You know in the game of Chess, when you see imminent entrapment of your King is inevitable, no way out, no way to win, you surrender your king to defeat by laying him down.  It is the honorable and good sportsman thing to do.  Is this what you are doing by taking yourself out of the debate?  If not, it might be a good idea and time to consider the move.

Whay has Gore not met Lord Monckton's challenge to debate anthropogenic climate change?

sar, for every link you give that shows global warming, I can give you one that shows the opposite.

The link above shows that the Antarctic ice is increasing, not decreasing.

Global warming (now called climate change because of the decrease in temperatures over the past decade) - is a ruse - a ruse aimed at wealth redistribution.   And, you lefties have bought into it hook, line and sinker.
